Music Connects Sunderland

As part of the Culture House Sunderland family, Music Connects Sunderland delivers, supports and champions music-making activity across the city. We aim to unlock musical potential and ensure young people have opportunities to progress regardless of their background.

We work with schools to fulfil the National Plan for Music Education, ensuring the opportunities for high-quality music education are available to every child and young person across the city. Our work with cultural and community organisations delivers a broad, diverse and open-access music offer with progression routes for any child or young person who is interested in developing further.

Music Connects Sunderland is all about the power of music to inspire, connect and uplift our communities. Whether you’re finding your voice for the first time or fine-tuning your next track, Music Connects Sunderland aims to level the playing field and make Sunderland the best place to be a young musician.

Projects we deliver include:

Young Sounds: Connect: In partnership with Young Sounds UK: Connects helps young people facing financial barriers to sustain their musical learning, and helps connect young musicians across the city.
