Residents and visitors can access the internet through a number of ways throughout the city, as well as by the a superfast Wi-Fi network, which is available in many public areas.

PCs and Wi-Fi

Superfast Wi-Fi, provided by Sunderland City Council and Boldyn Networks, is available to use for free in the city centre and Roker.

Connecting is simple - the network will appear on your device's screen automatically and you don't need a password, just click and go.
Free Wi-Fi in Sunderland is certified by Digital Friendly Wi-Fi, the safe certification standard for public Wi-Fi.

City Hall

City Hall in Sunderland City Centre has computers and internet access available for the public to use Monday to Friday 8.30am-4.30pm. The computers are located in the central foyer and are fully accessible to all. 

Digital Hubs

There are lots of local groups, providing digital support to people in the local area. Support can include drop in sessions, 1-2-1 support or workshops. To keep up to date with the latest information from each organisation please contact them before visiting.
